After deciding that I wanted to purchase a steamer. I narrowed my online search to one from eBay and a Huetiful Steamer from Amazon. The eBay one was $99 and shipping was free. It was a professional steamer with on a stand. You can’t go wrong right? When it arrived, parts of the assembly were smashed to pieces! I never got the chance to even try it. Boo!
As usual, I resorted to Amazon.com and ordered the Huetiful. Afterwards, I realized I had made the right decision because while it cost a little more, the Huetiful steamer would take up less space.
The Huetiful Steamer was easy to assemble. There are only 3 pieces: the hood, the collar and the base. It also comes with a separate facial steamer attachment that I have come to L-O-V-E!
The steamer’s water basin holds about a cup and a half of water. Per the instructions, it does work with plain old tap water which I did use. It is advised against over filling the water capacity because the steamer will go into safety mode and not work. So don’t overfill it with water.
It took about 3 minutes for the steamer to reach full steam capacity.
To be honest, I don’t even remember the conditioner that I used but it was probably Shea Moisture’s Deep Treatment Mask.
The steamer steamed for about 10 minutes before shutting off. I
Overall, I enjoy hair steaming and will do it regularly to see if my hair grows any faster or looks healthier.
